Optex, a producer of security laser and infrared technology, declared that Genetec's Security Center has integrated the company’s Redscan laser sensor, which combines access control, recognition of IP license plate and video surveillance.
The Redscan detector detects the speed and size of a moving object and also identifies the distance of the object. A unique algorithm in the detector processes this data. Hence, the results are reliable and false alarms are reduced. System integrators can add the Redscan detector and provide it to private or government security agencies and for commercial purposes.
The General Manager for global sales and marketing in Optex, Ryosuke Miwa stated that the integration of Redscan sensor technology with Genetec's Security Center will offer a proper integration solution, which saves time for customers requiring simple applications. As real-time monitoring is more efficient, the company’s detector minimizes false alarms driven by video and therefore, removes the costly individual response.
A senior technology Alliance Manager in Genetec, Morgan Pasnon said that the integration of Optex’s Redscan will allow customers to work with higher efficacy in an environment with many applications including high-end commercial systems such as asset management and intrusion detection.
Optex produces and distributes both outdoor and indoor infrared security sensors globally. A broad range of products including wireless and hard wired outdoor detectors and photobeams, sensors triggering CCTV and high class laser detector are manufactured by the company.
Optex will exhibit its products including Genetec at booth 9039 in ISC West International Security Conference and Exposition, which will be held between March 28 and 30, 2012 at Las Vegas.
